FitReserve Studio Spotlight: MyStryde

02.02.2016

Nice try, Boston weather, but you can’t keep us from training for a marathon this winter. Brand new to FitReserve – and brand new to Boston – MyStryde is bringing the indoor running class trend to New England with its sweet new North End studio. Featuring twelve WOODWAY treadmills, this boutique studio helps you improve your speed, cardio endurance and form in motivating small group classes.

Neighborhood: North End

Classes Offered: Endurance, Stryde, Boot Camp, MyFirst 5K

Why We Love It: Training for a race or trying to get your cardio endurance level up during the winter means a good amount of treadmill time, and running solo on that treadmill is neither fun nor motivating. At MyStryde, you run alongside a group of people all pushing to reach their personal bests, and have an instructors motivating you in a small class setting – classes cap out at 12 people each!

Why It's So Effective: Interval training brings your body into high gear processing oxygen, which burns more calories than running for longer distances at a comfortable pace. This type of training even helps you burn more calories after the workout as well by increasing your resting metabolism for the rest of the day!

Know Before You Go: Wear running shoes – of course – and get yourself to class at least five minutes prior to its start time to avoid losing your reserved treadmill. First time students should show up fifteen minutes before class to fill out paperwork.

Don't Miss: When the weather is nice, get yourself out there for MyStryde Mondays! Starting up again on June 1, 2016, this weekly running and walking club will meet at Boston Common on the corner of Charles Street and Beacon Street to run hills. Even better, every other week the run club collects a $10 donation from each participant to be donated to a charity that a MyStryde runner is running to raise money for!

Added Bonus: Training for your first 5K? There’s a MyStryde class for that! Check out the weekly “MyFirst 5K” classes every Tuesday at 6PM on the schedule.
