Class Overview

Props needed for class: blocks (a book can serve as a block), bolsters or pillows, yoga straps (a belt can serve as a strap) and a blanket or a towel.   Yin Yoga is an internal and meditative approach to practice that serves as a perfect complement to more dynamic and muscular "Yang" styles of yoga (think: Power Vinyasa). Yin helps to improve circulation, and joint mobility while cultivating awareness and inner stillness. In Yin Yoga your body is supported with a variety of props as you release into long holds of postures. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes. These holds softly open the connective tissues and apply gentle stress to ligaments and tendons, allowing them to fully release. Many of the postures focus on areas that encompass a joint (hips, sacrum, spine).    To participate you must download the free Zoom Cloud Meetings app. prior to class. Instructions to join Zoom virtual class will be emailed after you register via Mindbody or ClassPass. Please register at least 10 minutes before class starts.The link for the virtual class will be sent to your Mindbody or ClassPass email account, 30 minutes before class. Please make sure you have access to this e-mail address.
