Know before you go

  • New students must arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of class. First time students may not enter class after it has started.
  • Returning students may enter up to 10 minutes after class has started.
  • Socks and pants required (no shorts, no crop tops and no open-toed socks!).
  • Only non-breakable water containers allowed.
  • No gum or cell phones.
  • Instructors may adjust your body or call your name out in class.
  • Pregnant students must provide a doctor's note. If you have never taken a barre class and are more than 20 weeks pregnant, you must attend a Level One class before attending a Mixed class.
  • Studio has a locker room with two showers; towels, locks, and basic toiletries are provided.

STUDIO OVERVIEW

The Bar Method's efficient one-hour workout lengthens and sculpts the body head to toe.  Our highly trained instructors deliver personalized attention in a group setting, ensuring you get the most out of your hour and see results quickly.  
 
The Bar Method Bethesda is in the heart of Bethesda – conveniently located on the corner of Woodmont Avenue and Old Georgetown Road – close to the Bethesda metro station.  Kate Arnold opened the studio in February 2013.  The studio has 10 certified instructors and offers 45 classes a week.  The studio has a locker room with two showers and provides towels, locks, and basic toiletries.
 
Mixed classes are suitable for all levels, including new clients and advanced students.  Level One classes are more basic and are great for new students or for clients who want to learn more about form and alignment.
