Class Overview

Ashtanga Yoga is a complete practice of yoga positions (asana) with dynamic movement (vinyasa). This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.   Ashtanga Yoga is an ancient system of yoga that was taught by Vamana Rishi in the Yoga Korunta.  This text was imparted to Sri T. Krishnamacharya in the early 1900's by his Guru Rama Mohan Brahmachari, and was later passed down to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois during the duration of his studies with Krishnamacharya, beginning in 1927.

  • Please bring your own mat and towel if you have one. Mats are available for rent for $1.
  • There is a large bathroom if you need to change at the studio.

We launched in April 2012 as a teacher-run studio with a vision to provide a first class service in a welcoming environment.
