Ballet Body™ Fitness is one of the best workouts ever developed for women (and men). Ballet is no longer reserved for little girls and professional dancers. Everyone from Taylor Swift and models like Karlie Kloss to actresses like Sofia Vergara and Kelly Ripa are plié-ing their way to longer, leaner muscles, beautiful posture, and increased flexibility and endurance. Our Ballet Body™ Fitness class begins with a 30 minutes of yoga style stretches that real dancers do utilizing resistance bands and your own body weight to elongate and increase flexibility. We then move to the barre where you will feel #MistyCopeland-esque as you learn ballet terminology and work on pliés, tendus and other famous butt blasting ballet moves. Our class incorporates an authentic, traditional ballet barre that ballet dancers have developed over the past 350 years. Get ready to work muscles that you’ll never work in any other fitness class. After just five classes, you will begin to see (and feel) improvements in your strength, flexibility and posture. This class teaches you to stand up and look beautiful with the elegant posture of a ballet dancer.
Ballet Body™ Fitness was conceived and developed by Roberta Senn, an international ballerina and owner of the Great Neck School of Dance for 34 years. She opened its sister school, Ballet & Body, in Manhattan one year ago. In addition to teaching this class at her school for 30 years, she has taught it at Reebok Sports Club, New York Health And Racquet Club, and Method Gym in Manhattan. All classes are taught by professional ballet dancers who have danced with major companies including the Bolshoi Ballet, Kirov Ballet, NYCB and the Paris Opera Ballet.
