Kizomba is one of the most popular dance and music genres originating from Angola. Rooted in semba and influenced by Kilapanda and Angolan Merengue, Kizomba is known for its smooth, romantic rhythm and is usually sung in Portuguese. With deep cultural roots dating back to 1894, the word “Kizomba” was originally the Kimbundu name for a dance in Angola. Kizomba's popularity has exploded in the DMV area, and we’re excited to offer an All Levels Kizomba series by Luis Miguel!
