Class Overview

Gentle Yoga is essentially what it sounds like - a gentler version of a Hatha Yoga practice. Gentle Yoga will take more time than a typical Vinyasa class, practiced at a slower pace with less intense positions, usually with extended time for meditation, yogic breath work, and relaxation. Gentle Yoga will help lubricate joints, warm ligaments and tendons, loosen tight muscles, and strengthen neural signals. It will build healthy tissues throughout the body, improve lung capacity, restore resilience in muscles, emotions, and thinking, and improve confidence. Yoga improves overall physical function, digestion, circulation, and immunity. This class is excellent for beginners as well as the experienced yoga practitioner.

Know before you go

  • Please arrive early for your first class to sign waiver (no late-comers permitted; door will be locked 5 minutes after class start and no late-comers will be permitted and no refunds)
  • Located near the E/M/6 Lex/53rd St Stop, and near the R/W 59th/Lex train stops. The main street door is unlocked during business hours, students must buzz #700 after 5pm. The buzzer does not make a sound when unlocked, must pull the door.
