Featured Recipe: Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Turkey Bacon

11.14.2012

These brussel sprouts get a healthy makeover by substituting turkey bacon for traditional pork bacon (fewer calories and zero saturated fat!) and cutting down on the oil.  A great way to indulge without the added calories and fat!

Ingredients
2 slices turkey bacon, diced
1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
1 Tbsp. olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine all ingredients in an ovenproof baking dish and toss gently, making sure to distribute the bacon evenly throughout. Roast, stirring once halfway through, until tender and beginning to brown (about 40 minutes). Remove from oven and serve immediately, scraping brown bits from bottom of pan.
