10 Ways to Get WEightless...Instantly


Stop trying to lose, start letting go! WEightless is the moment you let go of all that keeps you feeling and looking heavy; body, mind, heart and spirit. Here, Kiya Knight shares ten ways to lighten up your life and feel WEightless instantly.   

  1. Forgive Yourself: We all make mistakes, we are humans after all. The ego takes over and before we know it we’re sitting in the mess we made wondering how it all could have gone down this way? The only way to move past the past is to forgive yourself and others and stop the inner dialog that keeps you stuck in the same program day after day. Set yourself free with unconditional love. You don’t have to forget but forgiveness will add some instant lightness to your life and make it easier to be your ultimate self.

  2. Be Grateful: An attitude of gratitude can help change your perspective on any situation. Instead of feeling grumpy that you have to get to the gym or studio for a workout, see it as a gift and enjoy the fact that you have a strong, healthy body made for moving and shaking! I never met a student who regretted getting to class.

  3. Connect with Yourself on a Deeper Level: It’s easy to get caught in the trap of being what everyone else needs us to be but what about you? What do you really value and want out of your workout and your life? The only way to know if your internal compass is pointed in the right direction is to practice connecting with your higher self through movement and meditation. I am always shocked at the profound epiphanies I have about the direction of my life and who I really am on the Yoga mat and the running path.

  4. Be Kind: Being kind to others and to animals feels good! Go out of your way to give an extra smile or assist someone in need. Your body will release serotonin, a feel good neurotransmitter found primarily in the gut and you will start to notice good karma following you throughout life.

  5. Eat Super Foods: The chemistry and balance of your body determines how you feel on a daily basis and how much energy you have to be amazing and do what you do. The food you eat affects your chemistry. By incorporating super plant foods like fresh juice and salads into your daily regime you will begin to notice increased energy levels and improved mood and sleep among many other outstanding benefits.

  6. Get Outside: When we get outdoors our bodies have a break from the electromagnetic energy from televisions, cell phones and computers. Being in nature literally changes your internal vibration and recalibrates your system, it is called earth-ing. A few minutes spent outdoors everyday can help prevent electromagnetic toxicity which can cause changes in mood, sleep and feeling of wellbeing.

  7. Believe In Your Big Dreams: Somewhere deep inside you know what you really want to be doing with your life. The only reason you’re having the dream in the first place is that on some level you know you have what it takes to achieve your big dreams. By making a choice to believe in yourself you begin to manifest situations and people who can help lead you in the direction of your most ultimate life. All you have to do is believe and then ask for help.

  8. Surround Yourself With People Who Lift You Up: There is nothing that will hold you back and induce deep frustration like being surrounded by people who bring you down and don’t believe in you. Most of the time these people don’t mean harm but are reacting from their own experiences and a fear based consciousness. Seek out those who support you on your mission and go out of their way to build you up. Support is the secret to success. With the proper support even the biggest dreams become reality.

  9. Sit in Meditation for 5-10 minutes: Whew! This can be tough at first! When I began my meditation practice it was all closet organization and planning my next workout. Somewhere along the way the external world falls away and we are left with the deeply calming peace of the present moment. By practicing this state of consciousness, over time we can learn to control stress, anxiety and fear which make us heavy and feel weighed down.

  10. Don’t Take Yourself Too Seriously: Lighten up! It’s just life! I like the saying “worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but gets you nowhere.” When you feel the weight of the world bearing down take a moment to induce feelings of playfulness. Call on your ultimate eight-year-old self and then pull away from the situation just enough to gain true perspective before reacting in a way you may regret.
