As Deputy Editor of AFAR Media, Jen Murphy has certainly traveled the globe.  In fact, this wanderlust-struck editor has visited seven continents, 55 countries and 161 cities!  Here, this road warrior weighs in on how she stays fit on the go.

Hit the road. I always go for a run as soon as my plane lands. It's a great way to fight jet lag and see a new city. I was just in Portugal and found a new company called Lisbon City Runners, which is designed to help runners who are trying to train for a race when they are on the road. You tell them your pace and the distance you have in mind and your guide runs you around the city so you also take in the sights. At the end you get an email of your splits, mileage, and route.

Practice your down dog. When I'm in a city for a week or longer I try to find a yoga studio in advance and work classes into my schedule. Even if you don't know the language, you can still follow what everyone else is doing in the class.

Get back to basics. I always pack a jumprope. It fits easily in my bag and if I'm crunched for time, it's the best quick cardio workout I know.

Pack snacks. Luna and Kashi bars are always packed in my travel bag. There is nothing worse than being hungry on the road.
