Helena Collins needed a way to change and reshape her body and life and so The Synergistics Fitness Method® and Life in Synergy was born. Taking her knowledge and expertise from 30 years of studying various disciplines, Helena created a workout that is challenging, but doesn’t leave your body feeling beaten up.

The Synergistics Fitness Method® uses the science of Macro-Muscle Synergy® to give you more results in less time. What does that mean? “Do the muscle, not the exercise,” says Helena.

Location: Boston, MA (Back Bay)

Classes Offered: Synergistics Fitness Method®, SFM Bikini Body, SFM Lean Legs, SFM Abs and Arms, SFM, Butts & Gutts, SFM Butts & Gutts Express, SFM Hott Mamas, Synergistics Fitness Method Advanced, SFM Synergy Stretch, Nutritional Alignment

In addition to group classes, Life in Synergy also offers Personal Training, Lifestyle Coaching, Spiritual Coaching.

Why you should check it out: The concentrated movements of the multi-award winning Synergistics Fitness Method may not always make you sweat, but don’t let that fool you. The focused workout is concerned with strengthening your weak muscles and stretching out your tight spots.

What makes it such an effective workout? SFM is designed to help bring your body into alignment, and your muscles into Synergy, while increasing your body’s ability to burn carbs and help to reduce the fat stored in your body. In class, you use weighted balls and resistance bands to tone and strengthen muscles, stimulate joint stabilization and strengthen your core. If you’re not sore the day after your first class at Life in Synergy, just wait! The “untrained” muscles you hit during class will likely result in delayed soreness, 2-3 days later.

Advice for first-timers: Beginners should start with the Synergistics Fitness Method® class.

Know before you go: Sign up before you go, as space is limited. Option to wear socks during class or go barefoot. The studio has lockers (bring your own lock), showers, and a retail section.

Metered parking along Boylston is limited, but there are a few garages in the area. The studio is a 5 minute walk from the Hynes Convention Center stop on the Green Line.
