FitReserve Studio Spotlight: Pranavah Yoga


It’s time to zen out in Long Island City, where Pranavah Yoga Studio offers a healthy mix of yoga, meditation, Pilates and barre fusion classes, along with classes specifically catered to pre- and post-natal students. All of Pranavah’s classes are a form of Hatha Yoga, which helps yogis purify and tone the physical body, while quieting and focusing the mind. Hatha Yoga has developed kriya techniques for cleansing the physical, mental and emotional bodies, and pranayama, breathing techniques to quiet the mind and balance the energy currents within/out the body.

Why It's So Effective: Both new yogis and yogis wanting to refresh their core basics can benefit from a Hatha yoga class. Hatha classes focus on posture, breath control, and seals and locks as a means of stilling the mind. Training the body and mind through this discipline prepares students for more advanced yoga practices. Pranavah encourages insight and leaves you feeling informed, relaxed, and restored.

Know Before You Go: Know your studio etiquette! Turn your cell phone off before checking in at the front desk, and leave all personal belongings off the main floor. Be on time, as you will not be allowed to join a class if you are more than 10 minutes late. Yoga mats are required for all classes - so bring your own or rent one though Pranavah - and grippy socks must be worn for all Pilates and Barre classes.
