GoRecess Studio Spotlight: barre3 Georgetown; Washington, DC

11.05.2012

Owner: Jill Warren

Classes offered: Founded by Sadie Lincoln, barre3 is a 60-minute, full-body workout fusing the grace of the ballet barre, the wisdom of yoga, and the strength principles of Pilates. barre3 georgetown offers 47 classes per week!

What makes it unique and why you should try it: In a 60-minute barre3 class, you can obtain a full body workout for a fraction of the cost of hiring a personal trainer or a Pilates instructor. You will always work your arms, legs, seat and core, receive coaching throughout the workout, and learn to actively stretch for quicker recovery and enhanced flexibility.

Tips for first-timers: barre3 Georgetown is conveniently located on the newly-redeveloped Georgetown waterfront on the ground floor of Old Dodge Warehouse at the corner of Wisconsin Ave NW and K Street NW.  The studio includes a nice locker room with a shower, a lounge featuring an original fireplace, and a childcare area.

barre3 Georgetown aspires to create a warm and welcoming environment for all of their clients, first-timers and regulars alike.  They are there to support you throughout class to make sure that you have both a challenging and fun experience.

Favorite local hot spots? Owner Jill Warren loves to jog the monuments in DC - the Lincoln Memorial being her favorite inspiration.  Barracks Row on Capitol Hill is a favorite to dine and visit with friends.

Did you know? In 2008, Jill climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, an amazing mental and physical challenge, and among barre3 Georgetown's instructor team, they have completed a couple dozen marathons and many triathlons. In addition, barre3 Georgetown's charming two studios are located in one of the oldest buildings in DC!
